When scoring is analyzed into an automated decision within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the persons concerned are entitled to substantial explanations about its logic and the criteria on which it is based. In its judgment of 27 February 2025, the Court of Justice of the European Union clarifies the obligation of data controllers to inform the persons concerned when they use a scoring system.
